Good reason for presidential flak

This is in response to Joseph Lowndes’ letter to the editor titled “Things different if Obama was white. He is right about the amount of criticism he gets, but let me add to the “why” of the flak.

President Obama is trying to start a race war with his non-involvement of black issues. By this I mean he allows Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to stir up the racial tensions with false accusations of racism. His Attorney General does nothing to stop or punish the race baiters.Neither he nor Holder do anything to stop or reprimand the New Black Panther Party when they issue death threats or interfere with voting rights. He is using racism as a tool and counting on a race war so he can use his new executive order on martial law.

He is counting on the Occupy Wall Street crowd to defy the police and cause massive civil disobedience. His agenda is not done and he has no intentions of leaving office even if he loses the election.

But Lowndes is also wrong because if the president was white and trying to destroy the United States, as Obama is doing by trying to destroy the country most of us grew up to love and protect with our lives, then he would be catching just as much flak or even more.The only thing that would be different is that Obama is using race because its easier than defending his record as a president.Armored gunman, 4 people dead in Arizona shooting

Armored gunman, 4 people dead in Arizona shooting

A man equipped with several firearms and body armor killed four people, including a toddler, on Wednesday in Gilbert, Ariz., authorities told azcentral.com. They believe he then killed himself. J. T. Ready, a neo-Nazi and member of the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps, was among the dead, according to azcentral.com. It is unclear what role he played in the shootings.

Sergeant Bill Balafas told msnbc.com that he could not confirm whether Ready was even among the dead or if the crime was a murder-suicide. He said police are still identifying the dead.There were a few weapons in the house and we don't know if there was a gun battle or if it was a murder-suicide," Balafas said.Down the street from where the shooting took place, neighbor Lieselotte Senge said she heard a loud boom around 1 p.m. and stepped out onto her stoop to see where it came from.

All of a sudden I saw all of the police cars,” Senge told msnbc.com. They were in the garage of a woman who Senge said had a daughter and infant granddaughter.On arrival, first responders believed the toddler, who was between one and 2-years-old, showed signs of life. She was transported to a children’s hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival, Balafas said.

Two handguns and a shotgun were recovered from the crime scene. Balafas said investigators had obtained a search warrant Wednesday evening and a bomb squad was sweeping the house for precautionary reasons.

Having an open, diversified workforce remains an important factor in keeping Singapore's economy strong.It allows Singapore to remain competitive, and it helps contribute to economic growth, which generates jobs for Singaporeans.

The enhanced Employment Pass framework announced last year ensures that EP holders are of the right calibre, adding needed expertise and complementing an increasingly qualified local workforce.The changes to the EP framework include tightened eligibility requirements, such as higher salary requirements and better educational qualifications for foreign talent entering lower and mid-level professional, managerial and executive jobs.

We had previously communicated that current EP holders will not automatically get their EPs renewed.Under the enhanced criteria, there will be some who will find themselves no longer eligible for renewal of their EP.Contrary to anecdotal observations in the commentary, MOM provides a high degree of predictability through the online Self-Assessment Tool for employers to assess if potential employees and current EP holders will meet the prevailing eligibility criteria.This helps to give businesses greater certainty when planning their manpower needs.

We encourage employers to use the tool well ahead of their EP renewals to gauge if their EP holders will be renewed.There will, of course, be other factors that cannot be adequately built into the automated tool, such as an applicant's past record or antecedents and companies' past employment records.These can only be determined upon actual application or renewal.MOM will continue to review and improve our communications to employers and employees, to strike the right balance between giving employers enough information to help with their business decisions about their workers while preserving the integrity of the EP framework to prevent abuse and circumvention.Justice for Trayvon
